About us

Japan is a multi-layer and complex society. It has been my country for over twenty years. I have taught English and French in various colleges and universities. Between my work and my everyday life I have witnessed and learnt about the unique way Japanese people interact with each other.

There is a myriad of expressions used in a myriad of given situations ; What does one say when they first meet, when they part, what does one say before eating, after eating, what does one say when entering one’s home, when leaving.

These expressions are used uniformaly across the country from Hokkaido to Okinawa whatever one’s social level.

If not endless, the list is long.

Mastering these expressions is at the crux of a good communication with your Japanese counterpart.
